Our Artists

Nasty Rumor is proud to represent a diverse group of talent from St. Louis and beyond:

SPEEDBALL

Speedball is St. Louis’ top-secret trancefusion phenomenon. Influenced by artists as diverse as The Disco Biscuits, STS9, Kiss, and Matchbox 20, Speedball brings a dark perspective to the world of jamtronica. Composed of brothers D-BAD and Slick Rick, paired with soul-brothers Mark Williams and BDogg300, this foursome has literally decades of experience playing music with each other - resulting in a sound that is both far-reaching and familiar, and a live show that has little compare. (Currently on hiatus, re-releases coming soon!)

CRUNCHY GROOVES

Crunchy Grooves is a DJ crew consisting of D-BAD (a.k.a. DJ Crunchy Grooves) and friends. Formerly the host of “Good Times” on KDHX Community Radio, D-BAD spins dance music from all genres - from funk to crunk to electro to techno, and beyond - resulting in a portable dance party for any occasion.

JOE THOMAS

Joe Thomas is St. Louis’ premiere minimal techno DJ. A longtime member of tech-house crew Alphahouse, Joe is the master of the quirky, far-out and obscure. A Joe Thomas set transforms a typical club night into a futuristic dystopia, the darkest sounds coupled with the most dancable beats. Along with fellow Alphahouse-member Scaught, Joe Thomas is the epitome of underground St. Louis dance music. Look for the debut EP in late 2008.

CPB

CPB is a St. Louis legend, a progressive jam-funk band of a very different order. Since forming in 1996 in Winchester, MO, the band has taken on many different shapes and sounds - but has always succeeded in pushing the limits of the traditional jam-funk music group. Hard to comprehend, even harder to keep up with, CPB is something special. (Currently on hiatus, archive releases soon to come!)
